He produces an opera within the opera starring Figaro, Count Almaviva and Susanna, who try to save the queen from her beheading in a fast-moving and tuneful production.  Presented in English with projected English text.  New co-production with Château de Versailles Spectacles.      3 Hours

Musicians of Ma'alwyck Civil War Concert Musicians of Ma'alwyck presents "Listen to the Mockingbird," a concert themed around Hyde Hall's Civil War weekend on Sunday, August 18th at 7pm. Join Musicians of Ma'alwyck director and violinist Ann-Marie Barker Schwartz, guitarist Sten Isachsen, flutist Norman Thibodeau and guest artists Tess McCarthy mezzo-soprano and Charles F Schwartz, baritone for a program of music popular during the American Civil War. Repertory includes works of Stephen Foster, Septimus Winner (one of Lincoln's favorite song-writers), Meyerbeer, Flotow and Rossini, as well as popular songs of the period. Lincoln loved opera, and, in fact, only a week before he was assassinated he attended an opera performance. Musicians of Ma'alwyck captures the flavor of the 1860s American culture with this delightful and poignant program of music.
