Despite All Obstacles of Nature: Composers with Hearing Loss

Beethoven, Smetana and Faure all suffered profound hearing loss yet continued to produce musical masterpieces from within their silence. This preview features excerpts from the full program and including the Piano Trio in d minor of Gabriel Faure, "From my Homeland" of Smetana and the third cello sonata of Beethoven, as well as the Etude of Richard Einhorn. Performers are Ann-Marie Barker Schwartz, violin; Petia Kassarova, violoncello and Starr Norman, piano. Composer Richard Einhorn will be attending the preview and available to meet the audience.
